The Tenth Annual Wounded Warriors Day on the Bay – August 20, 2022!
First of all, thanks to all of our sponsors and donors for supporting the our event. Wounded Warriors Day on the Bay Event Inc. is independent and our expense ratio is very low. We have over 100 volunteers and even, the captains and mates donate their time for the bay tour! It is important that you know your donations go directly to assist the wounded warriors and their families.
This year, we began with a ceremony to welcome the warriors and their families. Then, lunch was provided by Mission BBQ after which they embarked in a parade of boats from the Maryland Yacht Club, providing a scenic cruise of the bay or Inner Harbor. Upon returning to the club, the families enjoyed a full day of inspiring camaraderie, great food, and exciting activities for the children.
The highlight of the day was a super crab feast with steamed shrimp and traditional Baltimore steamed crabs. To top off the fun and relaxation, we sent each veteran home with a gift bag filled with personal care items and gift cards. The children received gifts and school supplies.
Maryland Rolling 9/11 Memorial Exhibition returned as sponsor/exhibitors. Maryland State Council Vietnam Veterans of America, Aston Carter, and McDevitt & Sons Plumbing and Heating Inc. returned as Congressional Sponsors this year. The wonderful Gold Star Mothers, women who lost their sons and daughters in the service of the Armed Forces of the United States, also participated. As usual, the NFL Ravens Cheerleaders brightened up the festivities.
Look through our website for information on our many great sponsors, pictures, and videos from past events. This past year, the web site has been upgraded by a sponsor, SPARKS! Marketing Communications. Donations can now be done on Facebook and online!
